A trusted law firm specializing in personal injury, estate planning, and probate matters, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Secretary to join their team.

Position Overview: The Legal Secretary will provide essential administrative support to the firm’s attorneys, ensuring the efficient operation of the firm. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and format legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Manage attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, meetings, and court dates.
  • Conduct client intake and maintain accurate client files.
  • File documents with courts and government agencies, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Assist in legal research and the preparation of case summaries.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of the office.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support attorneys and the firm.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or legal secretary certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a legal secretary or in a similar administrative role, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal management software. Clio preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
